No, United hasn’t changed their Friendly Skies slogan to Wait…there’s more. In my mind, however, the change is happening or maybe has already happened. I don’t even know what to think anymore, other than to expect more bad news. While United’s profits surged in April, two new scandals have come up this week:
1. Ticket agent cancels a customer’s ticket for recording her while they debated baggage fees.

2. Woman claims that flight attendants made her pee in plastic cups because the fasten seat belt sign was on and they didn’t let her go to the lavatory.
The customer documented her ordeal on Facebook.

United is investigating both of these and will respond at some point. The problem is that I don’t think it matters anymore. Some United employees are evidently so out of touch with what’s happening. Wouldn’t they know to tread lightly in each interaction, being extremely careful with how they handle situations like these given recent incidents? I’m still interested to see the results of United’s investigation of these latest incidents. One thing’s for sure, I’ll make sure to use the restroom before I enter an airplane from now on.
On the other hand, I feel for the awesome United employees out there. They may be receiving backlash for things out of their control. SO while we look at this small number of employees and their poor decision-making and misjudgments, let’s not forget that there are very good ones too, like this crew I recently flew with.
