If you haven’t logged into your United MileagePlus account recently, you should. United is hard at work marketing its credit cards on-board, off-board, in between…you name it. Just last week we saw both the increased 50k MileagePlus Explorer card signup bonus offer end, however decreasing to 40k. I was surprised to see this, since normally the standard offer on the card has been 30k. We also saw the card referral program end along with the increased bonus offers. But some of you who missed the 50k increased offer and the even more lucrative 70k offer may be off the hook.
Two days ago my brother-in-law called me to ask some info on applying again for the MPE card, as when he logged into his MileagePlus account he had a 60k offer! Remember that this one is targeted so don’t get your hopes up too much, but it’s definitely worth a log in to your MileagePlus account to see.
I’m not targeted…or am I?
If you’re not currently holding the MPE card, you likely see the following when you log in to your account:
As you can see this is the ‘new normal‘ for the MPE card, so nothing too exciting. However, to know whether you’re targeted for a higher offer, do click on that 40k offer. At that point you might see that you don’t have any targeted offers, or hopefully and like my brother-in-law, you might see the following:
In conclusion, although the increased public offers are gone, you might still be able to snatch a better offer if targeted. Log in to your MileagePlus account, click on the 40k Explorer card banner, and hope for the best… 🙂
