Edward Russell from FlightGlobal has shared via Tweeter a new cabin seat map that has not yet been loaded to United’s website. It’s the 777-200’s Polaris business cabin seat map. United began rolling out the Polaris seats earlier this year, on brandnew 777-300ER aircraft and after a series of delays. Recently United also put into service its first Polaris cabin retrofitted 767-300. Because of the delays the United Polaris seat tracker had been adjusted to show a 2017 fall rollout for the 767-300 aircraft. I feared this delay pattern would push these dates even further and into 2018.
I’ll wait until United loads this new 777-200 configuration to its website and makes it ‘official’ to comment on it. I’m certainly happy to hear that the common 777-200’s planning is moving along and hopefully retrofitting begins later this year. These planes are United’s most common long-haul equipment and their infamous for their 2-4-2 undesirable configuration.
